Meeting was called to order at 7:00 by President John Wood.
Members Present

Reports
•Minutes: Accepted.
•Treasurer’s Report: Bal $4199.87 Accepted.
•Membership Report: 44 individual memberships. 15 family memberships. 21 extended family memberships. 2 student memberships. 5 lifers. We had 42 at the general meeting. Approved
•Newsletter/Publicity Report: Nothing new to report. All is good.
•Webmaster Report: Not present. Nothing to report. Accepted. John would like to see the webmaster report include a list of member links.(tabled)
•SIG’s (Special Interest Groups): Video SIG- TBA. Graphics SIG- Oct 10 at Janus' house. FileMaker SIG is like pudding that just won't set up. Janus and John met to work on the SMUG database.
Old Business
We had a good October meeting and it even started on time. Still no word on our new club computer. We will try to start up the newbie meeting in January. SMUG will sell the old powerbook at the Nov meeting by silent auction. Payment by cash or check. We will send this out on smug_announce and include it on the newsletter card.
New Business
We discussed the issue of demanding a demo of the software that we give away and decided that we have no right to attach any conditions to items that we give away. We may however offer software to the general membership with the understanding that it would include a demo. We discussed the possibility of including links on our website to member businesses/services/etc. and will present the idea to the membership at the Nov meeting.
